I filled it until the oil strarted to flow over the threads.I'm going to change it at 600mi using Quaker State conventional oil and change it every 2000mi using conventional oil. I saw the price of Mobil 1 synthetic at appx $7.00 a quart, and picked up a gallon of Quaker State 10w-40 for $6.50. Yep that's rigtht, 4 quarts for $6.50. Using synthetic is a waste of money if you change your oil often, IMHO.

The only problem I found was in the southern Calif. winters the engine would have a hard time coming up to operating temp. Ran about 190/200 and on 10/40 it runs 210/ 220*.I normally use the Honda oil filter when I change the oil on the bike. Last year I switched to Amsoil 10W40.
