Iceaxe0140 2 years ago #3. I just checked and the rifleman perks increase the damage on a plasma rifle with the flamer mod. I suppose it might depend on what attachments you have on it. I changed the flamer attachment to automatic barrel and the automatic rifle perks increased it's damage. I didn't see any attachment for an automatic flamer mod. VATS crits are worthless because no one uses flamers in VATS. Slower breaking is actually kinda good, but A/FFR is just better overall. Plus, more damage = faster killing = less shots spent = less degradation :P. I use an enclave flamer with vats, aim at the head and it kils most things in a few hits. Epr flamer has 300 cap, Quad adds 90 mag to any plasma rifle regardless of mods because it is based off the default mag size of 30. Bad on flamer, pretty good on sniper and auto barrels.
